dancing with light...

Tonight I had the chance to play with MILLER DANCE ACADEMY dancers on a lighted stage. Here are my just a few favorite shots from the evening. I have to admit: Whenever I get the chance to shoot dancers, whether it is with video or stills, I find myself lost in the moment of each dance. At times, I even find myself dancing.

The movement of a dancer is so graceful that I try to mimic that same motion with the camera. I find myself mesmerized by the lines created by the arched backs and arms thrown this way and that way. I love anticipating the jumps. The raw emotion pouring out of their faces. It's just such a beautiful art form.

But tonight, it was all about the beautiful light that just allowed me to play with the tonal elements of each shot.
